Bookcover design for Hacking Lyme Disease: An Action Guide for Wellness, 2023
The client requested a cover for his new book that would give people with chronic Lyme disease hope. I set out with the goal to design a book that readers would enjoy holding.
Additionally, I designed a graphic logo for his book imprint in two color options that could hold together at a very small size on the book's spine.
This book is a compendium of nearly 40 key articles from Marty's articles: Treat Lyme by Marty Ross MD

Bookcover for Sailing With Ravens by Holly J. Hughes, 2014
Using a variety of poetic forms, former Alaskan salmon gillnetter, mariner, and naturalist Holly J. Hughes deftly explores how we find our way, at sea, in love, and in life. Hughes draws from more than 30 seasons working at sea, offering a lyrical view of the history of navigation, plumbing its metaphorical richness. From the four points of the compass, Hughes navigates “the wavering, certain path” of a woman’s heart, learning to trust a deeper knowledge. This collection offers wisdom culled from direct experience and careful attention, taking us with her in her quest to chart her own course. “How will she learn to ride the swell, let the earth curve her?” This poet’s questions open us to possibilities as vast as the ocean. —University of Alaska Press

Book Cover and Illustrations for Dog Days Raven Nights by John and Colleen Marzluff, 2011
Twenty years ago, fresh out of graduate school and recently married, John and Colleen Marzluff left Arizona for a small cabin in the mountains of western Maine. Their mission: to conduct the first-ever extensive study of the winter ecology of the Common Raven under the tutelage of biologist Bernd Heinrich. Drawing on field notes and personal diaries, they vividly and eloquently chronicle their three-year endeavor to research a mysterious and often misunderstood bird. They also shared the unique challenges and joys of raising, training, and racing the sled dogs that assisted them in their work. Accompanied by Evon Zerbetz's lovely linocut illustrations, Dog Days, Raven Nights is a fascinating, behind-the-scenes look at the adventures of field science and an insightful exploration of the nature of relationships, both animal and human.

Book Cover and Illustrations for Aleutian Sparrow by Karen Hesse, 2005
In June 1942, seven months after attacking Pearl Harbor, the Japanese navy invaded Alaska's Aleutian Islands. For nine thousand years the Aleut people had lived and thrived on these treeless, windswept lands. Within days of the first attack, the entire native population living west of Unimak Island was gathered up and evacuated to relocation centers in the dense forests of Alaska's Southeast.
With resilience, compassion, and humor, the Aleuts responded to the sorrows of upheaval and dislocation. This is the story of Vera, a young Aleut caught up in the turmoil of war. It chronicles her struggles to survive and to keep community and heritage intact despite harsh conditions in an alien environment.

Illustrations for article, 2006
For this humorous article about ravens by Ned Rozell, I chose to illustrate raven as the master of games, with the humans, dogs and wolves as the game pieces. I had created this giant table-sized game board called CACHE for my exhibit, Raucous! Everything Raven.
